The government will announce this afternoon a 'mega-plan' for renewable energy, including the development of innovative technology and the creation of industrial clusters, Jornal de Negocios Online reported. The government's various initiatives will cost 3.620 bln eur and are projected to create 2,630 jobs, the business daily said, explaining that it reached the total by adding up figures given by sources with knowledge of each of the projects.Jornal de Negocios also reported today that the proposed auction of seven new permits for wind farms has attracted expressions of interest from six groups.In another development, Agni Inc of Malaysia plans to build a factory in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, for the manufacture fuel cell batteries, the business daily added.Agni expects to invest 65 mln eur by 2009 at the site, where 225 jobs will be directly created, according to the report.
