Açık Şemsiye'de Tuncay Günlük, 'öbür The Smiths' olarak da isimlendirilen İngiliz rock grubu Gene'in ilk iki albümünden bir seçkiyle karşımıza çıkıyor.
1993’te Londra’da Martin Rossiter, Steve Mason, Matt James ve Kevin Miles tarafından kurulan İngiliz rock grubu Gene, 2004’te dağılana kadar Olympian (1995), Drawn to the Deep End (1997), Revelations (1999) ve Libertine (2001) adlı dört stüdyo albümü yayımladı.
The Jam, The Smiths, The Style Council, Faces ve The Clash gibi gruplara benzerliğiyle öne çıkan Gene, solisti Martin Rossiter’in Morrissey’e benzetilen vokali nedeniyle zaman zaman “öbür The Smiths” olarak da anıldı.
