The United Nations has started sending emergency food by air to communities in southern Somalia stranded by floodwaters.

The United Nations has started sending emergency food by air to communities in southern Somalia stranded by floodwaters.
In some of the worst affected areas, people have resorted to eating leaves.
The food packets were dropped near the towns of Afmadow and Hagar.
