US Representatives Barbara Lee (D-Oakland), Ed Markey (D-MA), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Diane Watson (D-CA) held a press conference on Capitol Hill today to share concerns about the proposed deal to lift restrictions on US nuclear aid to India that the House will vote on tomorrow.

In the next few days, Congress will be asked to vote on an additional $87 billion appropriation to fund the war in Iraq. This money follows a $78 billion special appropriation in April and a defense budget that already tops $368 billion.

On Monday Sept 17th we had an opportunity to catch up with Congresswoman Barbara Lee and talk to her about her decision to cast the only vote opposing President Bush's War resolution. Not even her fellow colleagues from the Congressional Black Caucus voted with her on this one.
