Media Matters for America and Air America Radio to Host Forum at GW Auditorium; 'Why Media Matters – Progressive Voices and the Media'
21 March 2006
-- Media Advisory for Wednesday, April 5, 4 p.m. EST
-- Media Matters for America and Air America Radio to Host Forum at GW Auditorium
-- "Why Media Matters – Progressive Voices and the Media"
WHAT: It's not just that they control all three branches of government -- conservatives increasingly dominate our news media as well. Turn on your television and you'll see show after show where conservative guests debate the issues of the day, often with no progressive representation. Flip through the radio dial and your ears will be assaulted by one Limbaugh clone after another waging a relentless war on progressives -- and on the truth. Pick up your newspaper and you'll read a torrent of conservative spin, passed on without criticism or questioning.
So what can progressives do about it? The question will be explored on April 5 at George Washington University by experts who understand both the problem and the potential solutions.
